gives up before finishing the redirect?

Is there some sort of race condition on slow systems,
that when I visit http://abj.jidanni.org emacs-w3m
gives up often before finishing the redirect?
Happens only on the first run, and plain w3m is not affected.
emacs-w3m-version "1.4.548".
