updating emacswiki

I spent some time today trying to update a page for the project on the
emacwiki. If you look at the page's diff history, you'll see that I
removed a lot of bad / wrong / confusing information.

Unfortunately, there's a lot of misleading information about the project
circulating there, and possibly in other places. It seems that the
information might once upon a time been correct or useful, but not
updated / removed when made obsolete by project updates.

Today, I edited the first five of 24 entries. If anyone notices anything
wrong about my edits, or can make any improvements, that's what the wiki
is for...

P.S. The editing also prompted me to submit today's patch in my other
email.
