I completely agree now that you explained a bit of the MML internals,
which I was unaware of.  I'll prepare a new patch based on your idea
if there won't be other suggestions or comments in the next 5 days.

From what I understood in the message.el source file [1], it's clearly
a Gnus function, so that's the other reason I didn't spend a lot of
time trying to use it.  Its use is just an extra feature, but strictly
not necessary.

w3m-mail.el is far better than w3m-source.el, so let's move to it if
there won't be other proposition in the next 5 days.
